The number of international students incoming to YTU is increasing each year, which adds greatly to the multicultural environment on campus. In this respect, we would like to host you here with your cultural background, which will enrich the international atmosphere of YTU.

Erasmus+ Programme Unit: It is the central Erasmus Office and located on Davutpaşa Campus. You can contact Erasmus Office for any administrative issues: nomination, application, acceptance, confirmation at institutional basis, etc. Contact e-mail:


Departmental Coordinator: It is one of the teaching staff at your registered department. You can contact your departmental coordinator for any academic issues: courses, study programmes, learning agreement changes, grading,  etc.

Erasmus Student Network (ESN) YILDIZ: A student club which helps out the incoming Erasmus students in social matters: City guide, accommodation, student facilities, student events, etc.

When you click on the code of each course, a detailed information about the course will be displayed. Please note that it is a catalogue, and it does not mean that each course available in the catalogue will be offered at a specific semester. The study programmes are set right before the start of the semesters. It will be possible for you to make a change on your proposed Learning Agreement after you arrive. It is also allowed the students to take courses outside of the registered department, on condition that the departmental coordinator and the teachers of the course agree.

Turkish Language Course (on demand)

It is an extra-curricular course offered only for incoming Erasmus students in Exchange of 6 ECTS credits.  

Offered at three different levels:


Intermediate (only during the spring semester),



Detailed information about the course will be sent to the students after the beginning of the semester.

-Fill out the pre-application form

-Login with your registered e-mail address and your password on the main page: 

-You will see that the status of your application will be “Online Registered”

- Fill out all of the necessary information correctly

- Attach the necessary documents (mentioned above)

-Submit your online application

-Check that the status of your application turns from “Online Registered” to “In the process”.


The applications that have not been completed by the deadline will remain at the status “Online Registered” and will not be processed.

Assessment Process:


-Erasmus Office will check your application and transfer the application for the assessment of the relevant departmental coordinator

-The Departmental Coordinator will assess the application

-In case of acceptance, Erasmus office will send you the scanned copies of your letter of acceptance along with the duly-signed copy of your Learning Agreement.

-Please check the status of your application to follow the process.


Definitions on the application status:


Online Registered: The student only completed the pre-application form and has not submitted the online application yet. The applications on this status will never be processed.


In the Process: The student has submitted the online application and the application is pending for the assesment of Erasmus Office.


Office Approved: Erasmus office finds the application eligible in terms of documentation and the application is pending for the assessment of the departmental coordinator in terms of academic eligibility.


Coordinator Approved: Departmental coordinator finds the application academically eligible.


Succeed: The application is eligible and the student can download the letter of acceptance and the signed learning agreement on the “Documents” tab.




Important Reminders


- Applications should be completed only through the online application system and the applications sent by e-mails are not considered as eligible.


-Before you start your online application, please check with your home university that there is an inter-institutional agreement with YTU for your department.


-Please do not insist on sending your application after the deadline.




Please contact the relevant Turkish Consulate at your home town to learn about visa requirements.



Residence Permit

Residence Permit Applications are received by the General Directorate of Migration Management of Turkey. For details, please visit their website:




You should have a General/Private Health Insurance Policy that covers your entire period of stay in Turkey.

It is also necessary for you to get your residence permit.




Unfortunately YTU does not provide accommodation at university dormitories. You can either search for private dormitories or rent/share flats with other students.
